Option 1: a Roku player channel

Roku cannot install Android apps, so TiviMate and IPTV Smarters are not available. Players built for Roku are, and the most searched one is Xtream IPTV Smart Player in the Roku Channel Store.

  1. Open the Roku Channel Store

On the Roku home screen, go to Streaming Channels (or “+ Add channels” on newer software) and choose Search Channels.

  2. Add an Xtream player channel

Search Xtream IPTV Smart Player and add it. Other Roku players that accept an Xtream login work the same way.

  3. Enter your Xtream login

Open the channel and choose the Xtream Codes option. Type the server URL with its port, your username and your password. Some Roku players ask you to enter them on their website instead, using a code shown on the TV.

  4. Wait for the channel list

The first load takes a minute. Roku players have less memory than a Firestick, so hide the countries you never watch to keep things quick.

Option 2: screen mirroring

Roku supports screen mirroring from Android phones and Windows PCs, and AirPlay from iPhone on supported models. Quality depends on your Wi-Fi, so it works best for the odd game rather than all-evening viewing.

  1. Allow screen mirroring on the Roku

Settings › System › Screen mirroring › Screen mirroring mode › Prompt or Always allow.

  2. Play on your phone or PC

Open your IPTV player on an Android phone or Windows PC and start a channel.

  3. Cast the screen to the Roku

Android: Quick Settings › Smart View or Screen Cast. Windows: press Windows + K. iPhone: use AirPlay on Roku models that support it.

When a Firestick is the better answer

If Xtream IPTV becomes your main TV, a Fire TV Stick or Google TV stick in a spare HDMI port is worth it. You get TiviMate's cable-style guide, faster channel switching and better 4K playback, and the Roku stays for everything else. The Firestick guide takes about 15 minutes.

Roku troubleshooting

  • The channel will not log in. Check the port after the colon in the server URL and retype the password by hand. More in the login guide.
  • Picture freezes. Restart the Roku (Settings › System › Power › System restart) and move it closer to the router, or use a Roku with an Ethernet port.
  • Guide is empty. Some Roku players need the EPG URL added separately. Our M3U converter builds it from your login.

Roku questions

Can I watch Xtream IPTV on Roku?

Yes. Add an Xtream player channel such as Xtream IPTV Smart Player from the Roku Channel Store and enter your server URL, username and password. Screen mirroring from a phone or PC also works.

Can I install TiviMate or IPTV Smarters on Roku?

No. Roku runs its own system and cannot install Android apps or APK files. You need a player that is published in the Roku Channel Store, or a cheap Firestick or Google TV stick plugged into the TV.

Why does Xtream IPTV feel slower on Roku than on a Firestick?

Roku players have less memory and fewer playback options. Hiding unused channel groups helps a lot. If you watch every day, a Fire TV Stick 4K Max gives a noticeably smoother guide and faster channel changes.

Is the Xtream IPTV Smart Player on Roku made by you?

No. It is a third-party player published in the Roku Channel Store. We provide the subscription login; the player is a separate app with its own developer and pricing.
