M3U to Xtream: get the login from a playlist link
Some providers only send an M3U link, but TiviMate and most players work better with an Xtream login. The login is already inside the link. Paste it here to split out the server URL, username and password:
Build the M3U link by hand
- Start with the server URL. Take the server URL from your login, for example
http://host:8080, with no slash at the end. - Add the playlist path. Append
/get.php?username=, your username,&password=and your password. - Add the format. Finish with
&type=m3u_plus&output=ts. Useoutput=m3u8instead for Apple devices that prefer HLS.
The TV guide link follows the same pattern with /xmltv.php: http://server:port/xmltv.php?username=…&password=….
Where to use the M3U link
- VLC: Media › Open Network Stream, paste the link.
- Kodi: PVR IPTV Simple Client › M3U playlist URL, plus the EPG URL in the guide settings.
- Smart-TV playlist apps that only offer “Add M3U URL”.
- TiviMate and Smarters: they accept it, but the Xtream login works better there.

How do I convert an Xtream login to an M3U link?
Join the server URL, /get.php?username=, your username, &password=, your password and &type=m3u_plus&output=ts. The converter on this page does it for you.
What is the difference between m3u and m3u_plus?
m3u_plus adds channel logos, group names and guide IDs to each channel. Always use it unless an old app refuses to load the list.
What is the EPG URL for an Xtream login?
The server URL followed by /xmltv.php?username=, your username, &password= and your password. Apps that take an M3U link usually have a separate field for it.
Is it safe to use an online Xtream to M3U converter?
Only if it runs in your browser. This one does: the link is built on your device and nothing you type is sent to us or anyone else. Avoid converters that “test” your login on their server.
How do I find the Xtream URL if my provider only sent an M3U link?
The login is inside the link. The server URL is everything before /get.php, and the username and password follow username= and password=. The M3U to Xtream converter on this page splits it out for you.
Why does my M3U link download a file instead of playing?
That is normal. An M3U link is a playlist file; paste the link into an IPTV app or VLC rather than opening it in a browser.
